EGL7 has finally come to an end, after a drama filled weekend with plenty of upsets. Some teams will be delighted with their placement after putting hours of practice in with their hard work finally paying off, quite literally. Whereas a few other teams will be disappointed with their placements and heading back to the drawing board as they prepare for their next event. Vital.Audio will walk away with £750, a team that should be very happy with their placement. Here you can find out the final placements in comparison to the pre-LAN seeds and see which teams have exceeded their seed, met expectations and under-performed.

    Wp Vital.

Did not expect RNX and TEC to place that bad at all. Would have expected both to be at least T6.

I didn't follow anything at all, but it seemed like it was run well. Twitter was always being updated, and so were the forums. Well done to all who helped run it smoothly. Especially Leighh, who kept us all updated on the forums (Y)

Well played to vital, over the weekend were clearly the strongest team and totally deserved to win.

Also very well done to eQ.Havok placing 5th, unexpected in my eyes although a lot of people tipped the to be the underdogs, just hopefully they stay the same and ego's don't kick in after this high finish.

I personally didn't rate Horizon prior event and even though a 9/12 finish doesn't make good reading, there run of games was unluckily hard and i think they should walk away with their heads held high, especially Lewis (Slaya) who was exceptional in every game i seen.

Finally, i felt the stream, commentary(Hamilton was hilarious) and mostly the content @Leigh @TheHatchetMan were second to none all weekend, good job guys.

Sean 'HamiltonX' Hamilton producing what was expected of him, superb stuff.

Yeah first event have watched from home (well, France). Not sure how it was for stream-viewers at e.g. EGL5 with all the internet issues, but this event looked really well run, time keeping etc seemed to be good. LAN Lobbies probably helped a lot, with all the ours lost at EGL5 due to the internet problems, not being a problem as this event. Commentating was good, like I said I've nothing to compare to, but was a good decision to include it, and people doing comms were of a good standard tbh.

Were some actual enjoyable games on stream, and I really hate watching MW3, but kept it interesting with the comms, and thought most teams were pretty closely matched, as expected beforehand, so props to everyone who attended. Obviously turnout wasn't the best, but all the potential reasons for that have been raised various times.

Bad times when @SHKZ is winning LANs. :bonk:

Gutted I missed it and looking forward to EGL8 and hopefully a hefty turnout. Be interesting to see what teams form over the next few weeks too, assuming most will split. People should really consider sticking together though, only way you're really going to be performing better next event.

GJ on content too, coverage was good.

how is it LOL@Horizon at all? we were seeded 11th, finished 9th, had the hardest group and then had very good teams in losers bracket, you have one good finish at reflex and think your god? anyway not here to argue...

Played vital, was class all event, thought this egl was much better than egl5 in my opinion, so much better run, commentators were amazing having watched over some gameplays. Also when i checked forums before for the first time, realised how well the event was being covered.

I knew MW3 was bad, but for these placements to happen it must be absolutely atrocious.

    What?

Whoever puts the most time in has the advantage, simple.

You seem to think all the players from the past are just too good that they can walk events without even playing, lol.

Plus the team that has won this event are quality players and have some good chemistry so it's not really that suprising. I know myself frenz and galaxy were very unlucky not to get even better placement at egl5 so its not suprising it's come around this time. as for 2nd and 3rd they were expected. Only RNX is the big shock but even they are not untouchable if they don't put the time in.

    GG to all

Great event and thanks to all who ran it. I am pleased with how we played, only downer was losing our 5/6th placement game from 2-0 up although I guess we just weren't meant to win it as we lost a stopwatch and lost the last map by what can only be described as the luckiest ever two piece stun kill by kriz. I guess you can't win them all :P

The highlight for me was knocking out TEC and RNX after being completely fucked over by the bracket. Good games to all and well played vital, they were consistently strong throughout!

Very glad to have attended this EGL, was a lot closer and was wide open on who could have won it. WP to Vital in the end and Infested for coming 2nd. Banterkings have to be eQ, watching their games listening to them was just hilarious and well played on their placement aswell. Enigma beating RNX 3-1 was a pleasant surprise so wp to them aswell. Everyone who went are all top notch lads, its a great community when mostly everyone gets along.

    Bring on EGL8.

Well played to all ps3 teams which attended, congrats to Vital for placing 1st. Also, well done for Horizon for playing well, enigma showed class that even 1st LAN can be great. Well done to Havok for getting a good placement for their 1st LAN, they must stick and we have the potential to see the next audio:)

Thanks to all streamers and commentators and the content staff, Great event can't wait for the next one... Will be defo supporting more teams for egl8... Bring it on!

WP to audio for winning the event and also wp to infested coming 2nd, Personally though the event was decent even with the low teams.

This lan event made me realise that commentary is my future, my past and my present. Me and @HUGZ had great comms and would love to work with starry,
