[EGL7] Infested Are The Shizzle at EGL7

Infested progressed to the Grand Final after knocking out Skitlite in a tense Loser's Bracket final, eventually winning 3-2. They will now play Vital Gaming in the EGL7 Grand Final in a Bo11 series.

Infested 2-4 Skitlite

This was a very even affair with Infested starting well to move 2-0 up in the first half. Skitlite rallied round however and ran 3 quick flags with no reply to end the half in front. They continued to look strong in the 2nd half, keeping map control for the majority of the half and eventually took it quite comfortably.

Underground S&D

Nexy has been somewhat of a revelation at times in S&D at EGL7, proving again in this map that he can step up and drop massive scores. Infested never looked like losing, pulling off some very smart rushes to completely unsettle the Skitlite squad to finish what was a very quick S&D. The A bomb was crucial as ever in this map, with every team pushing there on attack- as such Infested showed that they were simply the better of the two teams at doing to take the map.

Lockdown CTF

Infested 3-1 Skitlite

The first half of this CTF was not really an inspiring event, ending 1-1. Infested were on the good side for this half but couldn't seem to pull off the spawn trap and run flags. On the second side there was a stalemate for around 3 minutes, an occurrence which seems almost expected on this map. Infested were able to end this stalemate with some very good team play to cap the flag. Skitlite were probably rather deflated by this which allowed Infested to grab another flag to finish the map with a 3-1 win. Shizzle, Wilzo and Explicit all played very well this map for their teams and Explicit was extremely unlucky to be on the losing side.

Seatown S&D

Infested 1-4 Skitlite

This was a more expected performance from a usually strong S&D team in Skitlite, it could be regarded as a business-like performance in a sense as they were able to do everything that was necessary to pick up the win. All angles were covered allowing them to win easily barring a one round blip.

Bootleg CTF

Infested - Skitlite

Infested started slowly but after some efficient slaying were able to set up really well on the good side for a first cap. Skitlite put them under a lot of pressure afterwards but after an unlucky 3 down Infested were able to resume control and take control of the spawns for a nice relay double cap at the end of the half to make it 3-0. Skitlite now had all of the pressure on their shoulders as they had the unenviable task of capping 3 flags. Infested took advantage of this and allowed Skitlite to come to them rather than pushing out, a tactic which centred on them just defending their lead. Skitlite were able to penetrate this defence twice to grab 2 flags to set up for a grand finale of a finish as they went all out to get the last cap. Infested produced a stalemate and just managed to hold on to take the series. Infested's AR players Cookie and Wilzo played extremely well in this map to control spawns, while Nexy was on point with flag pulling decision.

Infested managed to avenge their earlier loss to Skitlite in this game, while the Skitlite team head home unable to improve on their EGL5 placement of 2nd.
