Our last game for today is Infensus versus Skitlite, two teams who have had mixed starts to the event. Infensus performed poorly in the group stage but then upped their game to defeat Enigma in the knockout stage. Skitlite had a bye in the 1st round so may be a bit cold coming into this game. Team Line-upsInfensus Starry Reckz Ash Steek Skitlite Micha McKeown Explicit AcidThe Skitlite team playing at EGL7 The MatchBootleg CTFInfensus 1-4 SkitliteThis map was all Acid's, he was relentlessly slaying from the off allowing Skitlite to go 1 flag up. Skitlite were much stronger throughout the first half, with Acid spearheading the charge; at one point he had only 4 deaths going into the second half. Skitlite went into half time with a 2-0 lead and looked comfortable with it. Acid continued to go huge racking up 23-9 midway through the second half, as well as a flag cap. A further cap as well as a solitary cap by Infensus rounded off this map, with Acid finishing on a high going 30-13. Lockdown S&DInfensus 4-0 SkitliteInfensus had to ensure they won this map in order for Skitlite to not run away from them. Starting as they meant to go on they took the 1st round in quick fashion. Much as 1st map was Acid's map, the S&D was completely Starry as he surged to 5 kills within the 1st 2 rounds to lead Infensus to a 2-0 lead. Micha had the chance to take the 3rd round for Skitlite but was unlucky and picked off in hallway by Ash. Starry was unrelenting, getting yet more kills in the fourth round eventually finishing on 10-2. It was perhaps apt that he was the player who got the final kill. The player of the last map, Acid, was less awe inspiring on this S&D finishing with 0 kills on a 0-4.Dome CTFInfensus 2-2 SkitliteStopwatchInfensus 0-1 SkitliteA 3 piece from Mckeown enabled Skitlite to cap a flag with one minute of the game gone, a good return to form after the past S&D. Infensus were trapped inside Dome for around 20-30 seconds, something you don't want to happen. They were fortunate to stay alive and rode their luck at times, eventually managing to push out and get 3 down though the flag pull was not completed. It was only a matter of time as they capped a flag with a minute left of the half. No real flag pulls during the first 2 minutes of the half as Infensus seemed content to hold their flag whilst under extreme Skitlite pressure. A couple of 3 downs on Infensus were not capitalised on by Skitlite, who were manipulating the spawns well. A flag capped by Skitlite was quickly followed up with Infensus getting a cap of their own after some good play by Starry and Reckz. Attempts at a late flag cap were tried by both teams but nothing was successful.Infensus got a taste of their own medicine in the stopwatch with Skitlite capping a flag within 40 seconds to clinch this map win. Infensus never got going with Skitlite catching them completely unawares meaning it was always going to be a tough task for them to win the stopwatch. Skitlite just needed to survive for 40 seconds and they successfully did so albeit they made life difficult for themselves with 2 suicides.Seatown S&DInfensus 2-4 SkitliteInfensus took an early lead with Starry again looking strong on S&D, it appears as though S&D at this event will be his mode. The second round went to Skitlite who will have been happy to not be losing 4-0 on another S&D. Another round was traded as Infensus pulled back in the lead even though Ash was without a kill. It all boiled down to 3-2 in favour of Skitlite with Steek having to clutch 1v2 to keep Infensus in the game. It wasn't to be as time worked against him, leaving Skitlite to win 4-2.Infensus have definitely had a mixed bag of results so far in this tournament, losing games in the groups before coming back to defeat Enigma in the knockout rounds. They will now have to traverse heir way through the loser's bracket and hope to get themselves back in contention for a top 3 placing. Skitlite on the other hand have looked strong all event bar a one game blip, with Acid in particular really starting to hit form on the CTF's. if they continue to play like they have done today, and teams like RoughNeX continue to struggle more than expected they will have high hopes of winning EGL7.
