In the wake of EGL announcing their plans to venture into the Uncharted scene for EGL8, some further news has come to light as Compete Media look to add a new website to their brand. At this stage we don’t know a great deal what to expect although an educated guess would say that the website would be very like our own. I’m also led to believe that Squid would be the main figurehead in the franchise, as he’ll look to put Uncharteds name out in the competitive gaming world. If you would like to learn more on Squid then I’d suggest reading this interview brought to you by EUeSports. This certainly shows that there is a bright future ahead for PS3 players and it will be great to finally see a PS3 exclusive showcased at EGL. This should hopefully put the PS3 community further out there and hopefully we’ll see plenty more like minded PS3 players come out of the cobwebs and attend events. The possibility of having the choice to compete on either Uncharted, Call of Duty or Counter Strike at LAN is a magnificent prospect and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the PS3 community as a whole. Phil 'HUGZ' Huggan from Compete Media had this to say regarding the project: EUeSports will continue to follow this story and keep the community up-to-date as the website progresses.
nah has multiplayer as well. Personally i think the game is shit but if it means more people to attend an lan event and support the community then i will also support it.
Nope mate it's a third person shooter and has a fairly dedicated fan base since Uncharted 2. The first Uncharted title was single player mind you. The game is built around small teams and you can play up to 5v5 maxinum, it also has lan lobbies. There aren't a load of people on EUeS who play it but there is a fairly big community based on Naughty Dog forums and Youtube, they've been looking to expand for a while and try to get the title at LAN events ever since it featured as a small event at MLG (which Squid commentated at).
Who actually plays this game apart from Sddh and BD as its no fun playing on your own. Although i do like the uncharted series UC2 was a great game, and this 1 is okay aswell not really played it alot.
played the beta for a short while, not the worst game I ever played, only played it for like 10 minutes though so. inb4codwhore, i started out on socom which is TPS.
http://www.fraggednation.com/standings/ps3/uncharted-3/UC3-Competitive-League-5782 That ladder started on 1st July and 420 teams have signed up, it's pretty active. The top 64 are also in a playoff style tournament this weekend to win 5 Steelseries headsets. There aren't many on EUeS who play it but there is a competitive community out there and with Compete Medias backing I'm sure it will grow even further.
I've not played Gears really at all and apart from UC3 beta, I only played UC2 competitively. I want to give an answer but someone like @goodgoa @Odge @RimXster @Chuffle would be able to give a better explanation than myself.
Played the Beta and have the full game just never actually took the disk out of the box. Big mistake probably might start playing it give it a try.
played the UC2 beta(which was great) back when that pistol was a one-hit-kill machine, planned on buying it actually but didnt and i don't even remember why :/.
Would say it combines Gears & Halo. Gears for its cover though is not that important on this game & Halo for the use of power weapons. I think the thing that makes it good in my eyes is the amount of health: getting the first shot doesn't automatically mean you will get the kill & gives you the chance to turn on someone. Even I don't rate this game compared to the original MP on UC2 but the only reason I push it is because 1) it has a solid competitive community growing everyday & 2) it has LAN lobbies. People can go play a public & get put off because it does take some time to get used to. But once you rank up your boosters (perks) & get used to the gameplay then you can match anyone, though majority of the time people give up before this.
If it starts becoming competitive, I will borrow my friend's disc and give it a go. The more people the better.
I couldn't be fucked how big the community is outside EUeSports. If EUeS are not pushing it, I won't bother. THe only reason I would consider playing, is if EUeS are pushing it, as its not a game I would play otherwise.
Ah finally! Since UC3 has been getting bigger and bigger I was wondering when Phil wanted to expand to it.
Bro would love just a bit of an overview on your plans and stuff if you get a chance, I know I'm not asking specifics but not really sure what to ask. - How many teams you think we'll get for EGL? You spoken to anyone at all? - What sort of plans for website, any features eues doesn't have - You think it will be popular with the community and take off? Just tell us whatever you can :p
- I think y'all can get 8 teams no problem. Will they be the best UC3 has to offer? Eh, probably not but it's a start. - Honestly, you'd have to ask Hugz about that. I'm no web-master, so I'll let him do the talking there. - Oh yeah, I've been trying to do this for months but I could never get it to work or the people who said they would help...never did. I think it will blow up no problem.
